Why I Joined Fortress: Erin Cook, Director of Onboarding

Get to know our Director of Onboarding, Erin Cook, and why she joined Fortress to disrupt the property management software market.

Name: Erin Cook

Title: Director of Onboarding

What drives you? How did your career path lead to Fortress?

My drive comes from my passion for learning, as well as my eagerness to contribute to the team, our customers, and the company in an intentional and meaningful way. I am also quite competitive — I truly believe you should always play to win the game!

I have worked in property management for more than 14 years, so I am well acquainted with the challenges onsite and executive teams face with finding a property management system that meets their needs. I participated in countless new technology initiatives and beta tested many products, but never seemed to find the right combination. I knew the industry needed a modern solution that was, most importantly, user friendly. I saw that in Fortress and quickly knew I wanted to be a part of the team.

How has your experience with Fortress been thus far?

My experience so far has been amazing! It has been enlightening, challenging, and extremely rewarding. More so than in any of my previous roles, I am able to see the immediate impact our work has on our customers. I am looking forward to the great things we will be able to accomplish in 2023!

What about the company do you value most?

There are so many things! At the top of that list is the team’s dedication to both our clients’ success and to each other. The level of innovation, collaboration, and drive that I have seen in this team has been truly inspiring. Always thinking beyond the box to find a solution that brings the most value to our customers.

How does your role allow you to contribute to the growth and vision of the company?

As the Director of Onboarding, I am responsible for the development and oversight of engagement management, implementation, as well as creating best practices and improving efficiencies that will ensure the success of our clients. Through our white-glove approach to the onboarding and implementation process, we are changing the way our customers feel about converting to a new property management system. It is no longer scary or daunting, but exciting!

What would you say to someone considering joining the Fortress team?

If you love a challenging, fast-paced environment where you get to collaborate with the best and brightest, then don’t hesitate — join!
