Cookie Policy

Last Updated: July 23, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what Fortress Technology Solutions, Inc. (“Fortress”, “we”, “us”, “our”) stores on your device when you visit this website, why we store it, and how you turn the optional parts off. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal information more broadly.

What we mean by cookies

A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser so it can recognize your device on a later page or a later visit. We use the word “cookies” here to also cover similar technologies such as local storage, which works the same way from your point of view. Where a row below says “browser storage”, the data sits in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, and it is never sent to us automatically.

Your choices

The first time you visit, a banner asks what you are comfortable with. Nothing outside the Necessary category loads until you answer, and choosing “Reject Non-Essential” means no analytics or marketing script ever runs.

You can change your mind at any time. Open or use the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every page. When you switch a category off, we stop the scripts in that category and delete the cookies and storage keys it had already set.

What we use and why

Necessary

Needed for the site to work and to keep forms safe from bots. These are always on and cannot be switched off.

If you turn this off: Not applicable. Without these the site cannot do its job.

NameSet byWhat it doesHow long it lasts
fortress-cookie-consentFortress (browser storage)Stores which cookie categories you agreed to, so we stop asking.Until you clear your browser storage
fortress_demo_unlockedFortress (browser storage)Remembers that you unlocked the self-guided demo, so you do not have to fill the form in again.Until you clear your browser storage
_GRECAPTCHAGoogle reCAPTCHATells a real form submission apart from an automated one.6 months

Analytics

Shows us which pages people read and which ones they leave, so we know what to fix. Set by Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager, and by HubSpot.

If you turn this off: Nothing loads. No Google Analytics or HubSpot script runs, and anything they set earlier is deleted.

NameSet byWhat it doesHow long it lasts
_gaGoogle AnalyticsTells one visitor apart from another.2 years
_ga_*Google AnalyticsKeeps session state for the specific analytics property.2 years
_gidGoogle AnalyticsTells one visitor apart from another within a day.24 hours
_gat*Google AnalyticsSlows down how often data is sent on busy pages.1 minute
hubspotutkHubSpotLinks a form you submit to the pages you looked at before it, so sales knows what you were reading.6 months
__hstcHubSpotRecords your first visit, your latest visit, and how many visits you have made.6 months
__hsscHubSpotTracks the visit you are on right now.30 minutes
__hssrcHubSpotNotices whether you restarted your browser.End of browser session

Marketing

Remembers which ad or campaign link brought you here, so we can tell what is worth running again.

If you turn this off: We do not record the campaign that referred you, and any campaign data already stored is deleted.

NameSet byWhat it doesHow long it lasts
_gcl_auGoogleConnects an ad click to a form fill so the campaign can be measured.90 days
fortress_utmFortress (browser storage)Holds the campaign tags from the link you arrived on until you submit a form.Until you clear storage or withdraw consent

Functional

Remembers small choices so the site does not repeat itself at you.

If you turn this off: Nothing breaks. The intro animation and any popup you dismissed may show up again on your next visit.

NameSet byWhat it doesHow long it lasts
fortress-preloader-shown-v1Fortress (browser storage)Remembers you already watched the intro animation, so it plays once.Until you clear your browser storage
fortress-exit-intent-seenFortress (browser storage)Remembers you closed the exit popup, so it stops appearing.Until you clear your browser storage

A name ending in an asterisk is a prefix. Google and HubSpot add an account-specific suffix, so the real cookie on your device may read something like “_ga_ABC1234567”.

Third parties who set cookies here

Two outside companies can place cookies on this site, and only with your consent. Their own policies explain what they do with the data:

We use Google Consent Mode, so your choice is passed to Google's tags directly. When you decline, those tags are blocked from writing cookies rather than simply asked not to.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Your browser can also block or delete cookies for every site you visit, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking all cookies will break parts of this site and many others, including the setting that remembers your choice here. Clearing your browser storage removes the record of your consent, so the banner will ask you again on your next visit.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for how a website should answer it, and Fortress does not currently respond to it. The cookie banner on this site is the way to tell us what you want, and we honor it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove a tool. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted, and the date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed. If we add a new category of cookie, we will ask for your consent again.
